The Faculty of Education at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University was established in 2011, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880. The Department of Primary Education currently conducts its academic and research activities with two professors, five associate professors, four assistant professors, and four research assistants. The Department of Primary Education was established in 1998 during the restructuring process aimed at meeting the need for qualified teachers in all branches of the primary education system. This restructuring followed Turkey’s transition to eight years of compulsory continuous primary education in 1997. In 2016, following an institutional update, the department was renamed the Department of Primary Education. Within the department, the Department of Preschool Education trains kindergarten and preschool teachers for early childhood education institutions, while the Department of Classroom Education prepares classroom teachers for primary schools. |
